How do I commission you?
Whether you're looking to hire PhDcartoon or seeking more information I’d refer you to the contact page. Just need your name, contact info and some details about your project. I will email you back (usually within 1-3 working days) and see if we can arrange a time to chat.
Why don’t you show prices/ how much do you charge?
I don’t show prices as each project is so different. There are too many variables involved to have set prices for the varied work I do. There are certain services I have set prices for, like 3D mock-ups and book GIFs.
How do you create your artwork?
All my artwork is created digitally using a Wacom (a drawing tablet that has no screen, basically a fancy mouse). I do sometimes miss the feel of pen and paper from time to time (luckily I can place the paper on top of the Wacom and it will automatically digitalise my penwork). I usually create line-art and colouring with software like Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop and animations using Adobe After Effects and Video Scribe.
What files do I receive at the end?
You will be sent a transparent .png by default, then any format can be requested after, such as the vector file (vector files are used for logos). Or resized for social media. I do not send original hand-drawn artwork.
How long will my commission take to complete?
This depends on how busy my current schedule is, the size of your project and potentially how urgent you need it. As an average, I’d say most small to medium-sized projects are completed within 3-4 weeks. The sooner you make contact the better!
What about payment?
I will need a 50% deposit before starting the project and the remaining amount at the end of our collaboration. You will be sent invoices via WIX which offers secure payment options including PayPal and card payments.
Our business is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with an online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

Can I get sample sketches?
I don't do speculative work like sample sketches/animation. My time has to be paid for and it is more cost-effective for the client, not to have to pay for this additional service. I would expect that if you like what you see on my portfolio and feel my style would be a good fit for your project, then you will happy with what I create.
Would I own the rights to the illustrations?
Yes, will have the rights to the image. We can discuss the commercial usage of the illustration and these rights will be included in the quote. I reserve the right to use work I create for promotional purposes - such as inclusion on my website and social media channels.
